Two-Tower Operation

01 — Adsorption / Drying

Compressed air enters the first tower. The desiccant material adsorbs moisture from the air as it passes through the bed.

  • The tower remains under pressure.

02 — Regeneration

At the same time, the second tower is regenerated. A small portion of dry compressed air expands to a lower pressure and flows through the saturated desiccant.

  • Regeneration air enters the saturated tower.
  • Pressure is reduced.
  • Moisture is released from the desiccant.
  • Moist regeneration air is exhausted.

Alternating Towers

The dryer automatically switches the airflow between two desiccant towers. This allows continuous production of dry compressed air.
